What the Evidence Says: BAcC Factsheets Insights
Holistic support for anxiety, stress and associated symptoms such as insomnia
Restore Your Balance Naturally
Chronic anxiety and worrying deplete the body, mind, and spirit. To help break this exhaustion cycle, we use targeted protocols - like the ear acupuncture points shown here - to settle the mind and deeply restore your sleep.

What the Evidence Says: BAcC Factsheets Insights
Backing our clinical approach with evidence, The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) research factsheets highlight how acupuncture supports your body:
-
Reduces Anxiety: Clinical trials with Anxiety UK show that acupuncture provides significant improvement in anxiety, comparing favorably to NHS talking therapies.
-
Regulates Sleep: Studies show it helps insomnia by increasing natural melatonin, improving total sleep time, and enhancing sleep quality.
• Calms the Nervous System: It down-regulates the "fight-or-flight" response, controls cortisol production, and reduces physical tension.
The TCM Approach: Anchoring the Shen
Traditional Chinese Medicine views anxiety as an energetic imbalance. A common theme is a turbulent mind. In TCM, this is called an unstable "Shen" (spirit/mind). To build resilience, we combine clinical treatments with natural therapies. Your plan may include:
-
Traditional Acupuncture: including ear acupuncture
-
Clinical Acupressure: including ear-seeds
-
Clinical Bodywork: including massage and cupping
-
Somatic support: breath work, yoga, qi gong, mindfulness
Your Initial Consultation
Your anxiety is unique to you. Your first visit lasts up to 90 minutes for a comprehensive case history. We discuss your history, triggers, lifestyle, diet, and emotions. We also observe your tongue to map your internal health.
Next, you will lie on a couch or remain seated. Ultra-fine, sterile needles are gently placed in specific points. You then rest for 20 to 25 minutes. If you dislike needles, non-invasive clinical acupressure is available.
How Many Treatments Will You Need?
Acupuncture works cumulatively. A course of weekly treatment is recommended. We review your progress after 6 weeks. Then we may move to weekly or fortnightly care.
Chronic conditions generally need a longer plan for lasting results.
